Help A Friend Out established in Soshanguve, on January 21 2019, is an idea from not only one but three visionaries put into motion. Oreneile Matjene, Amogelang Modiba and Aubrey Nkuna are co-founders of this movement with a broad aim of setting out a positive outlook on life for the youth.
“Our aim is to change the world-one person at a time and create a generation that has problem solvers instead of problem creators.” said one of the founders, Oreneile Matjene. So far, apart from public speaking they have worked on 4 successful projects after launching their initiative.
Their first endeavor was a free forex seminar with the goal being to help the youth equip themselves with the knowledge of making money. The second one was the Matric dance drive where a collection of donations were made to give to the less fortunate so they too could experience the night. These co-founders went to the extent of paying for the people’s fees and helping with car rentals.
Their third project was initiated in June 2020, a project in commercial farming. We found a field in Soshanguve skills center for the disable and an agreement was reached to use the field for our commercial farming said Oreneile. This project in particular caught the eye of the ward 34 councillor, Harold Matjene and the Gauteng MEC of Agriculture Morakane Mosupyoe.
For their fourth project, they hosted another forex seminar in August 2020 this time around it was in commemoration of women with the aim to educate females on forex trading. They have recently initiated a new project called HAFO brings financial literacy to the people purely based on educating people about finances. Furthermore, HAFO was approached with a proposal from Eudemonia primary Co-operative Limited, to be part of a skills development and accredited training project for the youth. #ladi_jaja?
