Lethabo Kekana is an innovative entrepreneur from Soshanguve, Pretoria. She is the Directing Manager of a company called VIP Platinum Trading and Projects which specialises with manufacturing and packaging of cleaning detergents and perfumes.The company also gives back to the community by offering training to the unemployed. This is with aim of helping more people enter the industry of manufacturing, packaging and distributing cleaning products.
Lethabo is in business with Hlobisile Zulu, who is the General Manager of the company. Together they are responsible for the manufacturing process of cleaning products.They partake in marketing of VIP Platinum, as well as outsourcing and financing operations of the business.

“As the Director of the company, I personally engage unemployed youth to become sales agents of the VIP brand and generate an income for themselves.” Lethabo said. She encourages anyone interested to resell and make a commission through distributing the products. She has already recruited some of the individuals interested in selling her products.
Looking at the Entrepreneurs life, she is a mother of a 10-year-old girl. She studied film-making and broadcasting, obtained her diploma and then went on to study sales and marketing at Unisa. Lethabo has always had a passion for entrepreneurship, she registered her first business at the age of 21. “Even though I have failed in various businesses, it was through that failure and lessons that I thrive in the manufacturing sector without looking back.” She said

Lethabo mentions that her motivation comes from young black women in South Africa who have taken a bold step in becoming entrepreneurs in the harsh economic conditions we are facing as a country. She saw the need to pursue her business idea during the pandemic. “Even though I had this idea for a while, the pandemic inspired me to finally implement it.” She adds. Lethabo also explains that lack of information slowed down the process.
