VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS EMBARK ON ANTI LOCKDOWN PROTEST.
At least about 15 politically affiliated groups took it upon themselves to take part in a peaceful anti-lockdown march to the Union Buildings yesterday on the 30th August 2021. Their assembly point was at Pretoria Church Square where they met and prepared at 10H00 AM to head to Union Buildings and submit their grievances alluding that South Africa is under attack.
“We encourage and welcome all South Africans to join us in this peaceful protest. Our sovereignty is under attack,” their poster read. The purpose of the March was to have lockdown regulations eased and for life to return to the normal people were used to before the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.
However, the groups’ petition gained much attraction with just over 500,000 signatures for the past week of people supporting the cause. The march was led by the Party of Action (POA), the National Youth Group (NYG), Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans’ Association (MKMVA) and the Congress of South African Students (Cosas), among others.
At least 15 politically affiliated groups took part and supported an anti-lockdown march to the Union Buildings yesterday. “The executive declared and implemented the national State of Disaster without reason and justification,” reads the statement. The statement further alleges that the legislature failed to keep the executive accountable when the declaration was made and during subsequent extension of the State of Disaster.
The groups have also accused the SARB of financing the State of Disaster without verifying its validity. The following are the things included on their memorandum. #NoMandatoryVaccines #FreedomOfSpeech #NoLockdowns #FreedomOfReligion #NoMedicalApartheid #MyBodyMyRightsMyChoice #NoMandatoryMasks
