TWO PEOPLE FATALLY SHOT AT SOSHANGUVE CROSSING.
Police have launched a man hunt for an unknown man that allegedly killed two men at Soshanguve Crossing on Friday, the 27th of August 2021. It is allegedly reported that the suspect was attempting to rob a man that ran into the mall screaming for help. The suspect opened fire and shot a security guard and a retail worker inside the mall, the two victims lost their lives on the scene and the first victim that ran inside the mall managed to escape.
A confidential source said that “This started outside the mall before it reached the inside of the mall, A man was getting robbed, so he ran inside the mall screaming for help, and then there was screams saying “Vimba” coming through while this was happening. The suspect opened fire and shot a security guard on the chest because the security guard was allegedly armed, thereafter the man also allegedly shot a retail worker in the eye that was trying to help the victim.”
This incident left Soshanguve residents in fear and shocked. “This incident left me shocked and traumatized, we no longer feel safe. I was outside the mall when this happened, I only heard 3 gunshots from outside , five minutes after we ran to the mall and two men were lying down unconsciously before they lost their lives in the scene. Police need to find this person; the two innocent men deserve justice” another confidential source said.
The Police Spokesperson Constable Portia Sebone highlighted that both victims died on the scene and no arrests have been made as the police are still on the hunt for the suspect. Sebone said that “ Allegedly the suspect was trying to mug a man, thereafter the victim immediately ran into the mall screaming for help, and then the suspect opened fire and killed two people, a security guard and a retail worker, that were trying to help the victim. The first victim that ran inside the mall is alive fortunately, however as SAPS we have launched a man hunt, and the case is still under investigation.”
