Miss T&S
Today is #kasivibes day and I’m here to dish out the best infotainment within the streets of Pretoria hence my column is called #kasivibes. So enough about me let’s get back to business. This week I got the privilege to sit down with Vee a PR Manager from TNS Productions, the production company behind TNS pageant. The event is set to take place this weekend in the dusty roads of Sgandi also known as Winterveld. Winterveld is township in North West Province but falls part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality.

Stay with me to see find out more about this exciting event!

Q. Hello and welcome to Tsa_Pitori Online Magazine.
A. Hello and thank you.
Q. Kindly tell us, what’s your hustle?
A. My hustle is radio and I am one part of the Mainstream Amp and I’m also doing PR and Communications for a company called TNS Productions which does events
and artist promotion.
Q. And how did the TNS pageant come about?
A. The pageant started about 4 months ago. It was initially planned but was meant to happen after a ‘music fest’ that didn’t happen due to lack of funds. The teams focus went into the pageant which is showing signs of success.
Q. What inspired you to work on such an event?
A. To show that beauty can have brains and what society sees as ‘beauty’ is not always true and also give creative’s the platform to shine.
Q. You held a few semi-finals, and you now have your finalists. How’s the response thus far?
A. The masses love us hey but we wish for parent’s involvement as well not just parents but the community as a whole. None the less we love our loyal followers.
Q. What are some of the prices for the winner?
A. Ha! Wouldn’t you like to know? We would like to keep that hush hush till the finals, but we can share that our top 6 had a professional photo shoot, and were to have a picnic with the judges & headlining artists.
Q. Who did you work with on the pageant?
A. Worked with The Babes as judges, Prudence Motau who was in the running
for Miss Common Wealth 2014 as a head judge, the Mainstream Amp as MC’s, Bongs who is producer he does technical stuff for our events and others like Prodigenous who is our artist co-ordinator.
Q. Where will the pageant take place, take us through the events details.
A. The finals are at Multi at Sgandi in Winterveld on the 13th of December 2014, tickets are selling like hot cakes R20 pre-sold and R35 at the door.
Q. You’re hosting the event ko kasi ya gao #Winterveld right? Has the people supported you the way you expected?
A. The community has, like I said we need parents, I feel they don’t show support.
Q. I did an article on @thebabes and @prodeginous before, we tackled this issue of the fact that artists from Winterveld have been overlooked and not given the platform they deserve. What’s your take on that and how can talent from Winterveld move past this?
A. I have to agree with what they said, they are my home girls as well as Prodigenius. They inspire me, look if I were to add talent at Sgandi is not given proper spotlight and often it becomes forgotten and often dies. What we need to do is become leaders in the industry, come up with winning concepts and build brands, our own brands. That’s why we do shows like this pageant and other events with a pinch of Kasi flavor to curb the negativity and break boundaries.

Q. Thank you so much for hanging with us today, anything you wanna add on that we might have missed?
A. Support, support & more support.

That’s what I had for you ko my Hot Box with Vee.
Pageants allows one to attain steps that were out of reach so I urge everyone whose exposed to pageants to take such platforms seriously and to always do best in them. Not to forget that such platforms also pushes the envelope for community work, I hope the TNS pageant will indeed steer to that direction for people of Winterveld for their community.

DECEMBER IS UPON US. DON’T DRINK & DRIVE.
ALWAYS BE ALERT AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST CONDOMISE.
LET’S NOT ALLOW THE FESTIVE SEASON TO GET IN TO OUR HEADS, TO A POINT WHERE WE’RE NOT RESPONSIBLE. REMEMBER IT BEGINS WITH YOU!

LOVE, PEACE AND BLESSINGS UPON YOU ALL.
