Their love and passion for music is what keeps them going and giving great music to the people. Tebogo J Ndala popularly known by his Stage name “Ethopian Chyld or Smol” and Manqoba Fikile Joshua Ngomane also known as Man Q started doing music at a very tender age. The two music lovers were born and bred in Soshanguve, Pretoria.
Ethopian Chyld was introduced to the music industry at the age of 8 years, he is a soulful, deep and Afrohouse producer and Dj. When he was 19 he started producing music and never released anything until 2015. In 2016 Ethopian Chyld established his own label called House Head Session.
Ethopian Chyld met aspiring sound engineer “Man Q” from his neighborhood Soshanguve in 2012. They have been working together ever since 2012, and never released anything until this year(2019). Man Q Started making live music as a vocalist in 2005 and later on in 2008 he started producing music. Man Q is a sound engineer graduate, he told Tsa Pitori that his qualification in popular music/sound engineering makes things easy in terms of mixing and mastering music to meet the industry standard in quality.
Ethopian Chyld and Man Q have an EP coming on the 20th of September 2019 titled “Colossal EP” it’s their first release together after 7 years of hard work and dedication. The two told Tsa Pitori that the EP consists of 3 tracks. The tracks are titled Serene (Original Mix), Median (Original Mix), Transcending (Original Mix), all 3 tracks are instrumental Deep House tracks. “On this EP we blended a bit of chord progressions and added synths to brighten up the mood of the songs. We were looking into mixing electronic with deep house and a bit of soul from the chord progressions”, the pair told Tsa Pitori.
Man Q and Ethophian Chyld were invited by Metro FM to talk about their new EP, they told Tsa Pitori that they decided to title their EP “colossal” because they saw it as something great and massive. “It actually describes the title of the songs in the EP whereby from track 1 to track 3, the titles represent time and period of which the human race travel throughout their journey”-they further expained.
The pair said you can’t be sure if fans will love your music, but you just have to make quality music and hope people vibe to it. So far people that have heard their music on Metro FM responded well to it and from the teasers of the songs they posted on their social media handles justice is done to their craft.
The two music producers told Tsa Pitori that they are going to produce more music for their fans and hopefully more events.
