29 January 2019 marks the long awaited release of the ALPHA EP by the one and only Wizi Beatz. The young and talented Wizi is popular for having produced hits like Monifere where he is featured by Ntukza from the popular group TearGas, and Couldn’t by Areece feat Emtee, one song he has been caught under the shadow off, until now. The ALPHA EP is hard evidence why WiziBeatz is the hottest rapper to recently come out of Pirara. Tsa Pitori had the privilege to listen to this great project and here is my overview of the whole project.

First of all the EP has 9 featured songs and 2 bonus tracks just for control. Track 1 is an intro that introduces Wizi to the listener just in case you are not aware by now who Wizi Beatz is. Then it’s another laid back joint called Damaged Trust which has that authentic Wizi sound. One of my favourite joints in the EP is Track 3 where Wizi Beatz features AB Crazy the track is called ‘over here’ and the beat has some elements of the famous Nkalakatha by the legend Mandoza, the whole song is on steroids.

The EP altogether is a work of art and Wizi Beatz is without doubt a musical genius and the freshest kid on the Block. I appreciate the fact that he remembers where he comes from and gives shout out to Sosha and Juklyn in general on the Song Kasi Love feat Ntukza. Other songs to look out for include Chaclas feat Fifi Cooper and Mshoza, Billionaire feat Tabz42 and my favourite song in the whole EP Respect feat Emtee and Jpac. The two bonus tracks didn’t disappoint and I found myself jamming to Did it for my family feat Tabz42 and City on the mappo is just a cherry on top.

Pitori is blessed with talented artists and rappers per say and it is a bold statement to can proclaim and announce Wizi Beatz as the Prince of Trap music not even just in Pretoria but SA as a whole. If I had to describe the talented producer/rapper I would say he is the new age Dr Dre of Mzansi hip hop. The Alpha EP is a collector’s item and must have if you consider yourself a music fan. I enjoyed listening to the EP and without any doubt I would recommend it to you and any other music lover.

Now for the defining moment I am confident and proud to announce that I give the ALPHA EP four and half stars out of five. This is work of art and every rapper releasing this year have very big shoes to fill.
