TAXI DRIVERS ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING.

The Department’s Public Transport Intervention Unit (PTIU) arrested and detained three suspects on charges of kidnapping and intimidation at the Tshwane Central Police Station. The suspects allegedly kidnapped the victim, who was driving with his family, and forcefully took his car keys, cellphone and demanded R7000 to release the car.

He was allegedly told he cannot have more than two people in his car. PTIU members on patrol noticed some suspicious behaviour and pounced on the suspects who were found in possession of the victim’s belongings. They were immediately arrested.
