SPRINGBOKS OUTPLAYS GEORGIA FOLLOWING SLOW START.
The Siya Kolisi-captained Springboks last played exactly 20 months ago on November 2, 2019 prior to their match on Friday which marked their first international outing since winning the 2019 World Cup.
This time around it, as expected, took a while for the world champions to kick into top gear having trailed 9-5 mid-way through the first half. But Jacques Nienaber’s men finished the first stanza in impressive fashion, going into the break 19-9 ahead.
But the hosts turned things around, showing some exciting attack for a six-try win at Loftus Versfeld. The second half was one-way traffic as the Springboks ultimately ran out easy 40-9 winners.
South Africa face the Lions in the first of three Tests on 24 July.
