In commemoration of youth day, Something Sosha celebrated education by honoring all the hard working graduates of the year 2021 dressed in their best outfits with graduation gowns, belts and hats on June 16. This was in accordance with commemorating the June 16 Soweto uprising, which according to the South African Government marked exactly the 37th anniversary.

The 2021 June 16 graduation commemoration was hosted at Pretoria, Soshanguve, Block DD, Thutong street. All graduates received free lunch from 13H00 to 16H00 alongside the entertainment. Lebohang Letswalo, a Graduate from University of Pretoria said that the idea builds and motivate others to also work hard and also finish their academics.

“This is so beautiful, imagine! A lot of people are going to be inspired about all of this as it is one of the best things ever to meet up with different people from different institutions, she said. Themba Hadebe said that this is the best graduation party he ever went to or ever done forvhim. “I couldn’t ask for a better graduation party, therefore I am honored and appreciative for what Something Sosha has done for us.”

Something Sosha said that: “Today we are being the change we want to see, and when you are in a level of influence or power, use it to teach and pave a way forward.” Something Sosha said they wanted to do something different this time around as it is known that 16 June in South Africa has a norm or culture of wearing school uniform to honor the June 16 Soweto uprising.

Different graduates from different institutions went and celebrated their day by receiving free lunch and having a lot of entertainment. Music was played throughout the celebration brought by invited DJs. Rethabile Moloi a graduate at Tshwane University of Technology said that everything is perfect and could not ask for a betty graduation celebration. “I would like to Thank Something Sosha for organising something so beautiful for all of us, I mean everything is perfect, the decoration and set-up, the food are delicious and also the music. I am literally on tears as I also on my own  experience such because I know for sure that I couldn’t afford to have a graduation party at my place.” She concluded.
