SEVERAL ROUTES CLOSED DUE TO PROTEST.

ANC supporters are expected to embark on an awareness march against the recent killing of people in taverns and gender-based violence (GBV) in Pretoria. Motorists are warned that several roads will be closed in Pretoria  on Thursday. Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said several streets will be closed off to traffic due to the march.

The marchers are expected to gather from 10:00 at Jubilee Park on Thursday and march to the Sunnyside police station to deliver a memorandum. 

Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said several streets will be closed off to traffic due to the march and advised motorists are to use alternative routes:”The following intersections will be affected, Troye Street, Celliers Street, Leyds Street, Robert Sobukwe Street, Kotze Street and Rissik Street. Tshwane Metro Police officers will be deployed to monitor march and all affected streets.”
