PICTURE PERFECT MOMENTS.

33-year-old upcoming photographer, Justin Khosa from Soshanguve, describes himself as one of the most determined and passionate photographers. Khosa is known for his unique portrayals, He explores his photography with the presentation  of nature, objects and people. Khosa has revealed that Photography is everything to him “Photography is everything I have in my life, without it I am nothing at all” he said.

His passion drove him to study photography at the Tshwane University of Technology where he obtained a diploma in Photography and he has shared that he began to pursue photography in his early ages “ My passion for photography started when I was still in primary school. I was actually first inspired by my uncle, James Khosa, he was a photographer back in the day and I learned every photography basics from him. I started using a camera when I was doing grade 8, when my mom bought me a Kodak camera. That’s when I actually started to do my own shootings”.

Khosa has a dream of growing and being recognised within the photography industry “I want to see my self in America working for Time Magazine and Vogue Magazine”. Khosa said that he is strongly inspired by, Peter Ngubani, a photographer that went to Sharpeville Massacre where the media companies were denied entry, however he managed to get in and out with the evidence of brutality which was committed by apartheid police officers.

His accomplishment was registering his photography business in 2019 October. The photographer said that his journey was challenging and he didn’t get where he is today overnight “My journey in photography was not easy as the next person would think. You’d find sometimes that my camera is broken and I don’t have cash to replace it. I had to go to look for a job to replace it because  camera’s are expensive” he said.
