Thusanang Community Information Empowerment Centre is a Non Profit Organization empowering the community through job opportunities and assistant through online services and tertiary applications. The organization was founded by Kgopotso Martin Langa in 2020 at Soshanguve Block X. The organization aims to eradicate poverty and unemployment in Pretoria.
The organization gives back to the community by donating sanitary towels in various schools, food parcels and donated clothes from people to the communities. The organization distributed food parcels early February this year during lockdown, for people who were unable to go work during the pandemic. The main purpose of the organization is to reduce the high rate of unemployment by offering basic computer literacy, computerized cashier skills and Life skills. They offer information and encourage the youth to chase their dreams.
The biggest accomplishment of the organization was placing 16 candidates in different learnships from well known companies like Outsurance, Outex and Uber Eats. The organization has a goal of working with both the public and private sectors for placement of their beneficiaries and contribute more to the economy by improving the lives of the unemployed and people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Organization members came to realize that unemployment resulted in the high rate of crime in communities. “People look at crime as an alternative way to make money quick and easy. Creating more job opportunities help as people will have something to do other than to commit crime to obtain money.” Concluded Langa.
