NAY MAPS MAKES A RETURN TO YOUR TV SCREENS.

Former Uzalo and The Queen actor Nkosinathi “Nay Maps” Maphalala has taken to his Instagram account to announce that he’s joining the cast of Imbewu: The Seed to play the role of Zenzele Maphumulo. Maps is taking over from Mlungisi Shabalala who played the first Zenzele on e.tv’s popular soapie. His new troublesome character returns to avenge his brother Lungani Maphumulo and father Nkosana Maphumulo’s death.

The actor told Daily Sun that his character will do what he wants because he’s the only Maphumulo left on the show and he’s out to find out what happened to his father and his brother. He also said viewers shouldn’t expect him to be the same as before because his family’s tragedies have changed him:

“People can expect a different Zenzele, not the one who left to go overseas. He’s now a grown man who will do whatever he sees fit because he feels he doesn’t owe anyone anything,” Nay Maps said. “He has already made his debut and has made quite a hectic entry. He has just come back and he’s already killing people. It will be exciting.”

Maps also said that he left The Queen because he lost his dad and had to take some time off. “I gained the strength to get back into acting three months ago. Being back on set feels good because I know my dad would want me to continue,” Nay Maps explained.This is not the first time that Maps and the creator of Imbewu: The Seed Duma Ndlovu work together.

The pair worked together on Uzalo where Ndlovu was a producer for several years before he walked out of the telenovela in 2016 according to City Press. Maps got his break-out role on Uzalo where he played the role of Mxolisi. Imbewu: The Seed is executively produced by Anant Singh and actress Leleti Khumalo who plays the role of MaZulu on the show. #ladi_jaja?
