NAY MAPS LEAVES UZALO HANGING.

Nay Maps whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphalala (30) born and bred in Pretoria  is not returning to Uzalo as the show’s April teaser had promised. Nay Maps played the popular character of Mxolisi in the SABC 1 telenovela before he joined The Queen

According to the teaser Nay Maps was supposed to join a list of actors who recently returned to the soapie Uzalo. Khaya Dladla, aka GC, Nokuthula Mabika, who plays the role of Thobile, and TK Dlamini, who portrays the character of Mxolisi’s friend Mastermind, have all appeared in the show except for Nay Maps.

The show’s viewers have been using social media to ask the show when Mxolisi will be making his much-anticipated appearance. The show’s spokesperson Nomfundo Zondi explained the mix up to Daily Sun. The teaser had fans thinking Mxolisi and Mastermind were going to join forces one more time to pull off the biggest heist in Kwa-Mashu. However, to fans dismay and confusion only one of the two characters returned for three episodes who is Mastermind but Mxolisi never showed.

Nomfundo explained that the show’s teasers were written before the scenes were shot. She said Nay Map’s busy schedule clashed with Uzalo’s schedule and he ended up not coming to KZN to shoot his new scenes. Nomfundo reported and explained that Mxolisi would have returned for only a few episodes. “We had to make changes in the storyline. It’s not like we took our viewers for a ride. Nay Maps was too busy. His busy schedule couldn’t allow him to come for a shoot.” Nomfundo explained.

The name Nay Maps means overwhelming prosperity and success, it is a combination of his name Nkosinathi and surname Maphalala. We now see the young talented man every day on our Television screen playing the role of Dingane on Mzansi magic’s The Queen and SABC 1 Skeem Saam.
