MTHWAKAZI REPUBLIC PARTY MARCH TO UN OFFICES IN PRETORIA.
The streets of Pretoria were affected by a March on the 27 of October by Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP). The Purpose of the March by the political party was to seek intervention from the United Nations against human rights violation in Zimbabwe. Tshwane Metro Police wrote on their Facebook page that all the marchers will meet up at United Nations offices at around nine (09h00).
“The marchers will gather from 09:00 and Picket at the United Nations, then move to the Union Buildings at 11:00,” TMPD wrote. TMPD also stated that some streets got affected by the march from United Nations offices. The streets are Sisulu street, Du Toit street, Steve Biko street and Hamilton street.
The political party said on their Facebook page the aim of the march is to submit their concerns to the United Nations offices in Pretoria South Africa. The time has come and it is now for us to seek self-determination, peace and justice,” MRP wrote. The route of the march from the United Nations joined Francis Baard Street turned left into Nelson Mandela Drive then right to Madiba Street and proceeded straight until they arrived at the Union Buildings.
Tshwane Metro police officers were deployed to monitor the March by Mthwakazi Political Party and all the affected streets affected. All Motorists using the affected routes were advised to avoid the affected Streets and use alternative routes such as Nana Sita Street, Visagie Street, Struben Street and Pretorius Street.
