21 year old Mpumelelo Chiloane, who is a thespian, singer and 3rd year bachelor of education student at Tshwane University of technology, was born and raised in Mpumalanga, Dennilton before moving to Pretoria. She is part of DED Drama society and Tembisa clubhouse. The love of drama and singing started in intermediate phase whereby they were hosting concerts every Friday.
“I loved music and drama at a very young age because of plays we were doing at school and every time I wished to be on TV and I had always compared myself with other actress.”
Some of her first performances they were performances done at school, church and live performance at Soweto theatre. After she moved to Pretoria she has performed at State Theatre, Giant stadium, for events and for singing she performed for Miss TUT Sosha Competition.
Her passion and love of art has gotten her so many rewards such as awards from the Directorate of Extracurricular Development arts awards 2021. She won an award for the best actress of the year, and new comer of the year. Going further she says she wishes to try pursuing poetry as she says it has been something she has been quite interested in doing.
