MIZ-DEE MAKING WAVES IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

Penelope Dineo Dhlamini, well known as Miz-Dee is a 28-year-old female DJ whose work is making waves in Pretoria. Apart from playing good music, Dineo is also a sound engineer. To add to her music production, she has her own record label called Fine Black Music. This multi-talented woman is also a Performing Arts graduate at the Tshwane University of Technology. She has also worked in the TV and Film industry for years but her passion for music production is undefeated.

Being in the music industry, she has had the opportunity to work with a lot of DJ’s, signed under Chymamusiq record label. She also works with Soul4Real entertainment with Joy Morale and his team. Dineo has always dreamt of being in the career path she chose; she grew up loving jazz music to be precise. Her interest in music production emerged in 2007, where she began with hip hop, and then moved to house music, as it was making big waves.The year 2012 was when she started being a DJ and releasing her own music, this was after she met a friend, Shuffle Music from Team Mosha who taught her all she had to know.

Dineo states that her mission is to go far deeper into music, she has always focused on mastering her work than being in front of a camera as just a face. “I have always worked in the backstage, during my TV and Film era, this is what I did.” She said. She dealt more with business calls and script writing. Having entrepreneurial skills and passion, Dineo also started her own wine brand. She has since been pushing to expand the business.

She spends this lockdown period in studio creating music. “The genre that I am into has been here for the longest time, it is not going anywhere, I always ask people who have made it ways in which I can reach their level.” She said. Her project has been getting waves from SA’s great producers and gathering support from the likes of Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Christos and Black Coffee to mention a few. #ladi_jaja?
