A recent Twitter post by the Female Disc Jockey (DJ) and TV personality born and bred in Pretoria Lamiez Holworthy, left a hater with chest pains after he claimed she looked like a boy. This all started when the 28-years old took to Twitter and posted a couple of pictures of herself looking fresh, the troll compared her to a man, which the star was not having.
Lamiez hit back by responding she is more of a man compared to the troll. “Chances are I’m more of a man than you could ever be. I could live with that,” she hit back. Lamiez lamented how she was often trolled or body shamed by those who really should not be throwing stones. In July she responded to those who criticised her body, posting an unedited snap of herself.
She was unapologetic as she told fans: “My name is Lamiez Holworthy and this is me in my purest form. I’ll be damned if I edit my pictures to appear tinier or to hide my cellulite or stretch mark or two.”
Followers showed that they don’t take body shaming lightly wether a person is an ordinary person or a celebrity. “Body shaming still continues in our country, I am disappointed by my fellow South African,” a follower with a twitter handle Lady_M @PaulinahM1308 wrote.
“We don’t have peace here in South Africa, why are we still continuing with this tendency of body shaming abantu vele? Anikhathali? Some people are weak and they don’t take such matters in a good manner. That is why we have an increase of suicidal cases, it is because of people abafana nawe,” another follower took it to the comment section following the body shaming to the Female star.
