The Lesutu family and Pub & Grill issued out a media statement to confirm the death of the owner, father, and vital member of the community Moses ‘’Moshe’’ Lesutu, ‘’ we have not only lost a son but a brother and a father, can our clients please give the family space to mourn his death respectfully’’ read the statement

Moses was shot dead on Saturday in Zone 16 Ga-Rankuwa, it is said to be a hit as he was with his friend who was shot in the leg and luckily survived as Moses who unfortunately lost his life on his way to the Geoge Mukhari Academic Hospital. His friend said he can not believe that he lost his former classmate, friend, brother and the only person who introduced him to Pretoria (Tshwane), ‘’he made me feel welcome even though I did not have any relatives around the area, he is the only person who made me fall in love with Pretoria and now it is so hard to believe gore ‘mgege’ as we used to call each other is gone. It is sad & painful thing to digest’’ he expressed his pain.

Lesutu was described as a people’s person as he loved and gave back to the community, helped community members where he could and always brought smiles in people’s lives, ‘’I think he was beyond being a businessman, he was more than that and he always made sure a person felt at home whenever one visits the pub, he will be sorely missed and I hope whoever is behind this to be found and rot in jail’’ a neighbor who asked to not be named said.

‘’His death shocked us all in our ‘kasi’ as he was known to be a man who gave back to the community, when we requested for help he would always be willingly and happy to help as we have some residents who struggle financially and he was always there to reach out to them’’ Ward 30 Councilor Violet Phalwane, she added that Moses was very instrumental to the community and she is saddened by his death as he was brutally taken away from them.

Many other people who knew and respected the well-known businessman took it to social media (Facebook) to comment and express themselves about the passing of Lesutu. According to the Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, he said the preliminary investigation suggests that Lesutu was inside a vehicle with another man when they were shot several times by unknown suspects.

“They were taken to the hospital where one was certified dead and the other in critical condition. “The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage. Police have opened a case of murder and attempted murder for investigation,” he said.

Masondo said police are appealing to anyone who might have information that can help in the investigation or in arresting the suspects to please call the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

The family will keep the media posted regarding the funeral arrangements.
