A night club in Pretoria, Sunnyside, went viral after allegedly releasing a poster using the tag line ‘NSFAS Ingenile’ phrase for upcoming alcohol sales on Wednesday 1 March. Europa groove lounge used the term ‘Ingenile’ a phrase that is highly used by students after receiving their monthly allowance from NSFAS. The flyers started circulating after students from Universities got their living allowances on Monday evening.

On Wednesday National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) released a media on Facebook saying the behaviour of this night club is very unacceptable and that they will take legal steps to ensure that Europa is held accountable for their actions.

“The allowances disbursed to NSFAS beneficiaries is intended to help students from poor backgrounds with food, transport,  learning materials, other living expenses and we track and monitor students purchase trends with the aim of putting measures in a place to ensure that allowances are spent according.” The statement read.

Europa groove lounge also released a media statement on social media claiming that no event of such nature is happening on their premises, and they don’t condone or encourage such. They concluded with an apology to their customers and various stakeholders who are affected by these allegations.
