South African R&B singer and songwriter Ndivhuwo Elaine Mukheli, better known by her stage name Elaine, hails from Pretoria.
R&B has historically had trouble taking off in South Africa, but because of the internet and easy access to music, the new generation has a lot of opportunities. She, has firmly established herself in Mzansi’s music scene and raised the bar for R&B music. She currently sits atop South Africa’s Apple Music Album Charts, and received a shoutout from Joe Budden, and has received over 2.5 million streams.
Elaine’s debut album, “Elements,” which has seven tracks and explores the themes of love, heartbreak, and self-reflection, was released in September 2019. The EP is an independent release without any stars or big producers. All of the simplicity was intentional.
“I think it was just to represent who I am. I wanted it to get to the point and get my message across. The EP was the right introduction to the music industry for me. It’s not too much, but it’s not too little at the same time. ” it’s just enough and that’s why I wanted to have the right number of songs that people could relate to,” Elaine said.
The positive reaction to the project, like its course, was that it was groundless and that the music reached the United States and was a testament to his empowerment as an independent artist
