Known for his career launching character on Generations, Jason Malinga, Xaluva is originally from New Brighton, Port Elizabeth but relocated to Pretoria on the basis of education and being with his extended family. Xaluva then went on to study drama at Technikon Pretoria, and after a long period of unemployment, Zolisa landed the Jason Malinga character on South Africa’s most watched soap opera Generations. He has portrayed his versatile acting talent on TV shows like Igazi, Rhythm City, The Queen, The Throne, Hustle, Gomora, Tsha Tsha and Ugugu no Andile, just to name a few.
His ability to portray different roles landed him a role on one of the “it” and most talked about Netflix accredited series called Kings of Jo’burg. He plays Mogomotsi “Mo” Masiri, the brother of Simon Masiri (Shona Ferguson). Some of his awards include the Golden Horn for best supporting actor in a feature film and a SAFTA.
