In 2016 a terrible occurrence took place in which a police officer, his wife, a pregnant daughter, and a 3 year old boy were all killed in cold blood, in Mmakau near Garankuwa. Onthatile Sebati, the surviving daughter, had told the police she heard gunshots while outside disposing of the water she was using to wash the dishes. Five years later Onthatile was identified as the culprit or the perpetrator of this ghostly incident.
Onthatile alongside her co-accused appeared in court despite the fact that the motive for the heinous murder remains unknown. Reema Nundlall, a psychologist, believes that the behavior could be influenced by a variety of variables. “Unruly rebellious behavior, threats of killing someone, whether a teacher, a friend, or a family member, aggressive conduct, sadness, or even antisocial inclinations are some of the indications that parents fail to see. These are some of the things a 15-year-old may have done,” Nundlall said.
She should be referred to a psychologist, according to the Department of Social Development. In connection with the murders of her family. Along with her co-accused they are charged with four charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, firearm possession, ammunition possession, and theft. The accused were each granted R10,000 bail by the Brits Magistrate’s Court after it was determined that they did not pose a flight risk and that their release would not jeopardize witnesses or police investigations, the case was postponed to March.
