SIDE CHICK OR MAIN CHICK?

There is a difference between being in a polygamous relationship and being a side chick. The term Side Chick is defined as the other woman; also known as the mistress; a female that is neither a male’s wife or girlfriend who has relations with the male while he is in another relationship. Polygamy is the practice of, or desire for, intimate relationships with more than one partner, with the consent of all partners involved. It has been described as “consensual, ethical, and responsible non-monogamy”.

To other women, being a side chick is glorious because they get anything they want from the man. They are taken to expensive trips. They also reserve monthly allowance. They get to call the shots in the relationship. In fact, the relationship revolves around them.

According to an article that was published online by mail and guardian, there is a study that was conducted by Christin Munsch, a sociology PhD candidate at Cornell University. The study claims that men who earn less than their partners are more likely to cheat. And men who are completely dependent on their wives’ salaries are five times more likely to cheat than a man who isn’t dependent on his wife.

According to Munsch, “Men more often cheat as an escape from their own lives or selves, rather than because they are dissatisfied with their partners – and one of the things they might want to escape from is the feeling of financial inferiority”. To a man, a side chick is somebody who they offload to, after a bad and long day at work. They claim to love the other woman so much but the reality is, they actually don’t love them as much as they say they do.

Sometimes these men choose to have casual sex with the other woman and that’s it. Just think about it! He says he loves you but refuse to spend a night with you. The only dates you get are indoors. He refuses to be seen with you in public. As a lady, that should tell you something.
