PROTEA FIRE BURNS AUSSIES.

Gloves, pads and bats are ready, time to swing and hit the Triangular series is here and it’s between the two power houses(Proteas and Aussies) of cricket and  the minnow Zim, if cricket is your thing Bra Rob’s paradise(Zimbabwe) is the place to be. It all started on Monday with the first match between Zim and Aussies, Aussies were out to show off and send a message to the Proteas when they posted a score of 350-6 and bowling out Zim for 152, Aussies went on to win by 158 runs. Little did they know that the Proteas would set the protea fire on them. The Proteas cruised to 7 wicket win against the no 1 ranked ODI team, the Zim therapist should make themselves available because Aussies need trauma counseling. It was like a practice match, Faf and AB Mdeva(AB de Villiers) had the time of their lives getting 106 and 136 respectively, the message was sent to Clarke, the Proteas talk on the field papa. The tourney continues on Friday with Proteas up against Zim.

The PSL is blistering hot, the bafana jujuman/sangoma has opened all the PSL goals, a combination of of 23 goals in total were scored on Tuesday and tonight (27 August)this is great, we hope for continuation. Dikwena better hlabela amadlozi(appease the ancestors), 3 losses in a row by Amakhosi they lost 2-0 on their latest clash. Pitori kwenzenjani(what happened) all the Pretorian teams lost with Matsatsantsa losing 2-1 to Amazayoni. Tuks lost 1-0 to E lla koto. Shockingly Bafana ba style handed Bucs their first win of the season in a dramatic fashion by losing 3-0, I hope you guys didn’t miss Pitso’s post-match interview. In other results Siwelele won 2-0 against Usuthu, Maritzburg won 3-0 against Chippa,  Maswaiswai  won 3-2 against Polokwane City and The Urban Warriors won 3-1 against the students. Chiefs are currently in pole position.

Crouch, touch, pause, engage! Heyneke(Heineken) Meyers boys nearly gave us heart attacks when they narrowly won against Pumas. Morne Steyn capitalized on penalty in the dying minutes of the match, things are not looking good at all for the Boks but a win is a win. The Wallabies await on the 6th of September I hope we’ll be ready for them. Finally the Bulls won their first match in the Currie Cup, they beat Eastern Province Kings 30-25 praise Gaad *in Dr Rebecca’s voice*. We can only hope they pick up where they left of when they face Lions on Saturday 6 September.

In other news Bra Shakes named Owen Da Gama as his assistant in his Bafana project, and also announced his bafana squad that will start the AFCON qualifier campaign next month,  and the squad got tongues wagging with people asking where’s Shabba, Modise, Sangweni etc. Bra Shakes is building towards the future people let it go, he chose young players, not soccer age “Young” let’s give him a chance. Wafa wafa was played during the weekend and I must say the Soweto giants were exchanging warnings. Bucs won 3-1(5-1 agg) against Wits and Chiefs won 3-0(5-0 agg) against Platinum Stars, handing us the prophesied Soweto Derby MTN8 final and yes we can’t wait. The PSL continues this weekend, on the other hand there’s cricket and rugby what more can you ask for? Enjoy an avalanche of sports this coming weekend.
